SEO myths you should know

True or false

SEO rules have the tendency to change over time as everything changes in the world. That is why a lot of SEO myths appear from time to time. There are some of them.

1. The keyword density:

  • There is a misconception telling that the more keywords you have, the better ranking will be on the search results page. It is not true. It is one of the most famous SEO myths. This was true earlier, but became false when spammers started stuffing the articles with a great number of keywords. Thus, if you stuff your articles with too many keywords, you may end up getting your site banned too. So, the keyword stuffing does not help you much.

The same thing can happen with a single keyword too. In case you are using a single word many times then you will end up being labeled as a spam site. It would be better to use keywords phrase.

2. Keyword in Metatags:

  • This also used to be true, but has become one of the most important SEO myths. At present, don’t include your main keyword/keyword phrase in your metatags as most of the search engines can overlook them.

3. Concentrating on one keyword per page:

  • Being another SEO myths, at present it is not beneficial for you to use only one keyword per page. Otherwise this may lead to spamming if you concentrate on one word only. You should have a certain percentage of these keywords to be used in the article.

4. SEO must be performed only once:

  • It is the most frustrating myth, because SEO must be performed in accordance to changes that happen regularly on the web. So, keep your website updated and optimize accordingly.

5. Trading links boost your rankings:

  • It is the funniest myth, as search engines are able to recognize a spam link and a useful link. Thus, at any rate you need links only from the relevant sites, which carry similar topics for discussion.
